At Monday Morning Meeting, a few of our students shared their "I have a dream..." pieces of writing. We had a guest author who came and read her book to all our girls at North. We had such a FUN time at the game! Mea's mom (who is the coach) got us the BEST seats! On Friday, we celebrated the 100th day of school! We had a pajama party with our favorite toy and had a s'mores treat at the end of the day! We have fun creating 100th day math word problems!

Math We had a lot of fun learning how to measure the distance around an object and working together to do it! We measured the distance around our classroom rug. Where We Are In Place and Time We continued to share our projects about different cultures. Everyone did such a great job presenting! We are having so much fun writing fictional narrative stories! Our stories include some type of extreme weather event, so many were looking at books for reference and ideas. In Mandarin, the students learned a new song having to do with the Chinese New Year. This year is the year of the rooster! We love to do yoga as our brain breaks! We are now taking turns leading! We watched parts of Barack Obama's speech and discussed our thoughts, hopes, and dreams for our future. Obama said, change happens when “ordinary people get involved, get engaged, and come together to demand it.” We know we can make a difference, no matter how big or small the action is - or how big or small the person is:). We are more than halfway through our planner. We have been sharing our culture projects, as well as working on maps of our community. “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” Martin Luther King Jr. Happy birthday Adam! The Kindness Elves appeared in our room for the last 12 days! We had so much fun reading all the different versions of The Gingerbread Boy! We found found many comparisons and differences! We worked on map skills. We started with mapping out the classroom using this fun website! gingerbread housesWe made our own gingerbread ornaments to take home! |
