D.E.A.R. Drop Everything And Read time... We introduced the LeapPads and the students really enjoyed using them this week!
WHO WE ARE
Central Idea: Our personal choices affect relationships.
Central Idea: Our personal choices affect relationships.
We read the book "Freddy & Frito and the Clubhouse Rules"
"Freddy and Frito play together every day—sometimes at Frito's and sometimes at Freddy's. But there are rules. Rules aren't fun! So what do these best buddies do? They build their own clubhouse in a tree in the park! With no rules, there's plenty of fun—until all of their friends come by for a party, and suddenly Freddy and Frito wish for a way to make them all leave!"
Then we made connections to the story!
We read the book "Yo! Yes!" The book is about how two boys meet on the street and are brought together by a simple "Yo!" and a "Yes?" We talked about key concept: PERSPECTIVE
After we read the story, Ms. Dottore made a connection to her own Yo! Yes! story!
The students helped me write a great story!
One day I went to a meeting and didn't know anyone. I felt very nervous. Mrs. Bechtel invited me to sit with her and I was so happy! I felt included. It turned out to be a good day!
The students are now working on their own Yo! Yes! stories because they all made so many connections! You will be able to read them all at Open House!

Some shared their Communication Binders that are decorated to represent "who they are!"
